Remember when in 2022 we broke ground on a project in Kenya? We teamed up with the wonderful Mama Kasinde Association to build a new classroom at a local school in Iltalala, an effort that symbolises our commitment to corporate social responsibility and supporting children’s education in vulnerable communities.
Last week, part of the Ópphalo team had the incredible opportunity to travel to the Iltalala community in Kenya. We were able to witness the culmination of a dream: the construction of the classroom has been completed, and it is ready to welcome the children for the next school year! It is a bright and safe space that will not only be essential for learning, but also represents hope and development for many families in the Maasai community.
Our collaboration with the non-profit association, Mama Kasinde, began in 2022. From the beginning, we have not only contributed funds, but have also been actively involved in every step of the process. Seeing this project come to fruition has been a deeply rewarding experience for all of us.
Mama Kasinde, founded with the aim of supporting communities in need in Kenya and Uganda, has been an incredible partner in this journey. Their focus on facilitating access to education from an early age aligns perfectly with our values, creating a synergy that promises to have a lasting impact on the community.
During the visit, our CEO, Juan Carlos Fernández, and Mario Fernández, founder of the company, shared some poignant words. “To be able to fulfil your dreams, to be free and great tomorrow, education is very important. Education is a powerful tool for change, and we are committed to supporting initiatives that open doors to a brighter future“.
At Opphalo, we are firmly committed not only to innovation in aesthetic devices, but also to creating a positive social impact. We plan to continue our collaboration with Mama Kasinde and explore new ways to contribute to the development and well-being of vulnerable communities in Africa.
